CAW model techniques workshop

I attended the Canberra Art Workshop's Model Techniques for Life Drawing Models workshop on the weekend.

This was a terrific event, organised by Michael Creagh. It is designed to train models in the art of posing for a life drawing art group and includes CAW convenors - and ring-ins like me - invited to draw the models.

Six models, five poses each, in all thirty drawings across about three hours. There was a mix of 1 minute, 5 minute and 10 minute poses from each model.

Here is a sample of my works from the afternoon.

Mike, ten minute pose, charcoal on cartridge paper, 59.4 cm by 42 cm.

Elinor, charcoal on cartridge paper, 59.4 cm by 42 cm.

Here are two more quick sketches of Elinor. Charcoal and soft pastel on newsprint, both 74 cm by 51 cm.

Tom - who sat for my ASOC Workgroup last week, was one of the models, here's a sketch from the ten minute pose. Charcoal and soft pastel on cartridge paper, 59.4 cm by 42 cm.

Here, the model is Matt, charcoal and soft pastel on cartridge paper, 59.4 cm by 42 cm.
