Very proud to say that my painting of Fatima was judged "Best portrait or figure" at this year's ASOC Spring Exhibition.
I was pleased how this painting came together as it was quite the experiment. At the Tuesday workgroup I have been exploring painting over different surfaces and for this one I rapidly spliced two pieces of prepared wallpaper together before starting on a painting of Fatima.
Dark clothing and crossed hands, spur of the moment.
I like this detail of the painting.
