A new model at Portrait and Life Workgroup this week - Louise.
For our third short sketch, Louise daringly turned upside-down, a hard pose to hold for 5 minutes. Here is my sketch, charcoal on butchers paper, 75.5 cm by 51.5 cm.
I have been bringing along oil sketch paper that I have already coated in coloured acrylic gesso. The deep turquoise really works well for the first image here, my last painting of the session. These three works are from the longer 40 minute poses, gouache on coloured oil sketch paper, 43 cm by 61 cm.
